Please explain why Emsisoft still has some process running, after being fully removed, that allows it to alert the Security Center that it isn't running even after it has been fully uninstalled? And please tell me how to fix it, and how to get the rest of it out. I am confused and very concerned because there shouldn't be anything left of the program to make any such report! Are parts of the program (i.e., Emsisoft Anti-Malware) still hidden in my computer? They apparently must be, and this doesn't sound good. And, most importantly, Emsisoft was fully removed! So how can it be alerting the Security Center that it's turned off when it isn't even there anymore and was never even set up as my main anti-virus program? This is very confusing and alarming.

Since Emsisoft Anti-Malware was only installed for one day last week and then fully removed later that same day, as I described earlier, please explain to me why Windows Security Center is alerting me that: "Emsisoft Anti-Malware reports that it is turned off"? Emsisoft Anti-Malware was never even my primary anti-virus, AVG was.

Shouldn't the Security Center be reporting that AVG is disabled instead? At no point did it ever replace AVG as my primary anti-virus. Emsisoft Anti-Malware was only in my system for a day, and then it was fully removed. It was installed up until last night, and it has never not been installed. AVG was the last anti-virus program that I had installed, and it has been installed for the last 4 years. However, the message from the Windows Security Center states the following: "Emsisoft Anti-Malware reports that it is turned off." As soon as I did, Windows notified me that my virus protection was disabled (as it is supposed to). Last night I deleted my AVG anti-virus completely. That would certainly be the correct process of fully and properly removing the program, correct? And after doing all of those steps, there shouldn't be anything left of it remaining and running in my system, right? I removed it through the Add/Remove programs feature of Windows, and then I manually removed whatever Emsisoft files were left by searching through my C drive and simply deleting them and sending them to the recycle bin (which I then emptied.) Afterwards, I ran a registry cleaner to remove any traces leftover from it. It did not disappoint me - as it removed the trojans and other infections that nothing else was able to find.Īfter the program was done cleaning, and after I was sure my computer had no more issues, I removed it. I found Emsisoft Anti-Malware, and it seemed very impressive, so I downloaded it.
